Aegir CMS consists of several components, each with its own license.

Aegir CMS Interface

The Aegir CMS interface is licensed under the HKLC Nadmin Studio Interface License, an Artistic License-derived open source license.

This license allows you to:

• Use the software freely
• Modify and redistribute the software
• Use the software in commercial and non-commercial contexts

Midgard Application Server

The core Midgard Application Server is free software licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

License discussion

There is an ongoing community discussion about relicensing Aegir CMS under the GNU GPL. If you are interested in participating, please join the mailing list or read about the licensing petition.
